About Us

Eagle River High School Choir has a proud twenty-year tradition of excellence and service. Currently we have two ensembles: Concert Choir, open to all students, and Swing Choir, a 12 to 16-voice auditioned ensemble.

Our ensembles study a wide variety of repertoire, from traditional choral music to contemporary pop. We regularly perform the national anthem at sporting and community events and present four to five concerts each school year.

Beyond the classroom, our students participate in Eagle River High School sports teams, clubs, and a wide range of extracurricular activities. Many are also involved in the broader arts community, contributing to Chugiak-Eagle River Drama musical productions, local churches, Anchorage Community Theater, and area dance companies. 

 

The choir has traveled and earned recognition in multiple competitions over the years, and our choir members consistently win positions in the Alaska All-State Choir and qualify for the Alaska State Solo and Ensemble competition.

Eagle River High School is recognized as a Purple Star school.  Our choral ensembles welcome military transfer students any time of the semester or school year.
